Crystal Onyx Cave – Cave City, Kentucky. Just a few miles up from Mammoth Cave. Discovered around 1960 the cave descends a couple hundred feet (I think). The tour is about 1 hour and feels like true cave exploring, you have to squeeze between formations at some points and will most likely come out at least partially covered in cave slime. The guide was very cool and led the three of us through the cave pointing out the various formations and explaining whatever process, geological or biological created them.
